I'm Stefano Chiesa, I'm 33 and I live in Rosignano Monferrato, in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage area. I'm a woodworker, a restorer of antique furniture and an antiques dealer.

I entered the world of restoration about fifteen years ago, spending time with growing passion in the old workshop of my Master: my grandfather Prospero Miglietta, a master woodworker. From him I learned many “secrets” handed down from generation to generation about the Art of Restoration, along with woodworking techniques, repair methods and the oldest formulas for the authentic finishes of antique furniture.

Over the past year, thanks to a European grant, I carried out a major restyling of my workshop: I renovated the working spaces, created areas dedicated to teaching and outreach for enthusiasts and young scholars, and set up a modern showroom where original antique Piedmontese furniture and various antiques are displayed — and available for sale.

My artisan workshop lies among the beautiful hills of Monferrato, in the ancient village of Rosignano Monferrato: my favourite place, where together with other young peers we've managed to give value and passion back to the old crafts of the past. I look forward to your visit.

Monferrato is a land of orderly hills, centuries-old cellars and farmhouses that guard rustic furniture whose value has often been forgotten. Our work feeds on this material culture: every piece that enters the workshop carries the mark of a home, a family, a valley.

Working here also means keeping a network alive: upholsterers, blacksmiths, glaziers, chair-caners and art restorers we've collaborated with for years. An artisan supply chain that still exists because the land recognizes it and calls on it.
